Every Patient’s Journey Matters

We know every prosthetic eye patient has a unique journey toward healing and wholeness. We are honored to be part of that story.

Brandy's Journey

“Having my prosthetic eye makes me feel amazing. I feel like my old self again but new and improved. Since having my eye removed, all the pain I felt is now gone and to add a cherry on top, having my prosthetic eye has exceeded my expectations. I have gone back to the gym and lost 80 pounds and I play on a softball team. I enjoy things that I have not done for years because I feel whole again. The coolest thing about my prosthetic eye is that I forget that it’s not real when I look at myself in the mirror.”

Mike's Journey

“Having a prosthetic eye has had a very positive effect on my self-esteem and plays a major part in being able to perform daily activities with confidence. I feel self-confident and normal in my everyday interactions with others. Only my closest friends even know I wear a prosthetic.”

Kelsey's Journey

“My eye is beautiful. It took me a while to come to grips with my loss, but when I did, I was grateful to have an eye to be proud of. Most people I meet don’t even notice my prosthetic. Even my regular eye doctor forgets. I love it and I feel beautiful!”

Clayton's Journey

“I injured my eye due to a baseball injury when I was 14 years old. Wearing a prosthetic makes me feel normal, like everyone else, and has given me the confidence to be in front of people.”

Tim's Journey

“I lost my right eye in an accident when I was 4 years old. I did not get my first shell until I was in High School. Needless to say, teasing and bulling were a part of my life as a youth. Good thing I had a strong personality. In my younger days, my friend and I, would be at our local pubs and wager with others. My friend would say, ‘I’ll bet you a beer that my pal can take his eye out.’ They usually accepted the wager and I would proceed to pop out my shell.”

Kaitlin's Journey

“Just because you are missing an eye or it’s different from your real eye, you are still a very beautiful and unique person. Your prosthetic eye shows the battles you have fought and survived and the strength you have. “

Sue's Journey

“My prosthetic eye is very natural and comfortable. When anyone discovers I am wearing one, they are amazed at the artistry and beauty. Since it’s all I’ve ever really known, I’ve found it to be a great conversation starter. It also gives me a compassion for those who have something “different” about them. At Northwest Eye Design, I know that they will take great care in providing me with an eye that looks beautiful. I actually forget I even have one.”

Robbie's Journey

“When we were told that Robbie had cancer, we just panicked. We were very nervous and not sure what to expect. Our first visit to Northwest Eye Design was unbelievable. We were so pleased with the facility and the staff–they welcomed us with open arms. Robbie bonded with Todd instantly and they have become good buddies. When it came time to take Robbie’s new prosthesis home with us, Robbie was more relaxed than we were. After the first couple of weeks, it was just like normal. Today, it feels like nothing ever happened. We look at Robbie every day and just smile. He is truly one brave kid!”
